About the player
Julius Dirksen came through Ajax's academy between 2018 and 2022 without ever making a senior appearance for the club, playing instead for Jong Ajax before the move to FC Emmen. He made his professional debut there in September 2022 and went on to make 61 league appearances across two seasons, splitting time between the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie without scoring a goal.
In June 2024 the left-footed defender signed for Go Ahead Eagles on a three-year deal with an option for a fourth season.
Before his move into professional football, Dirksen's path ran through several youth setups, including spells at FC Twente and PEC Zwolle prior to joining Ajax. At international level, he has represented the Netherlands across the U15, U16, U17 and U19 age groups, amassing 17 caps in the process.
