Victor Kaj Edvardsen

Victor Kaj Edvardsen started out in the IFK Göteborg academy, part of a youth side that won the Swedish U19 championship in 2013, when he finished as the group's third-highest scorer with 22 goals. Yet a senior breakthrough at Göteborg never materialised, and Edvardsen instead worked his way up through Utsiktens BK, Elverum Fotball, Stenungsunds IF and IK Oddevold.

The turning point came at Karlstad BK, where he was named Best Striker in Division 2 after scoring 25 goals and driving the club to promotion. Degerfors IF took note, and in the 2020 Superettan season Edvardsen finished as the division's third-highest scorer with 16 goals, helping the club reach the Allsvenskan. That form earned him a move to Djurgårdens IF in January 2022 for a fee of around 7 million SEK, with Degerfors keeping a 20 per cent sell-on clause. He made 39 appearances in Stockholm before Go Ahead Eagles brought him to the Netherlands in 2023 for a similar fee.

At Go Ahead Eagles he has settled into a regular role, passing 95 appearances for the club. He won the KNVB Cup with the Eagles, and was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Month for March 2025. His form in the Netherlands also opened the door to international football — Edvardsen made his debut for Sweden's senior national team on 12 January 2023, against Iceland, earning his first cap.
