About the player
Mathis Suray came through the youth academy at R.S.C. Anderlecht before his contract expired in 2020. He moved to the Netherlands and joined FC Dordrecht in the Eerste Divisie, where he spent four seasons building a scoring record that eventually caught the eye of the Eredivisie. Across 112 league appearances for Dordrecht he scored 19 goals and added 12 assists, taking his total in all competitions to 20 goals.
That form earned him a move to Go Ahead Eagles in May 2024, with the transfer taking effect that July. In his first season, 2024–25, he made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing five assists. He was part of the Go Ahead Eagles squad that won the KNVB Cup that season, playing in the final against AZ Alkmaar on 21 April 2025, which finished 1–1 after extra time before Go Ahead Eagles came out on top on penalties.
Suray built on that campaign in 2025–26, finishing as the club's top scorer in the Eredivisie with 12 league goals. At international level, he has represented Belgium at youth level, with eight caps for the U17 side, including involvement in the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals, and three caps for the U19s. He has not yet featured for the senior national team.
