About the player
Josh Andrews twice won Gillingham's Goal of the Month award, in November 2024 and again in September 2025. It is a notable return for a forward whose league tally for the club was five goals in 55 appearances.
He came to Gillingham after several years of loans. He started out at Wychall Wanderers and joined the Birmingham City academy in 2009. He stayed there until 2020, and in 2020–21 he won the Professional Development League with the under-23s.
Harrogate Town took him in February 2021, and he made three League Two appearances. At Rochdale, from August 2021 to January 2022, he played 22 times across the league and three cup competitions and scored five goals.
Gillingham signed him permanently on 1 February 2024 for an undisclosed fee, on a contract running to June 2026. He also played in the club's cup matches, and it was over this period that the two Goal of the Month awards came. He left when the deal expired at the end of the 2025–26 season.
On 1 July 2026 he signed a two-year contract with Grimsby Town on a free transfer.
