Julián Rodrigo Fernández

Julián Fernández came up in Lanús's youth ranks, but it was All Boys that gave him his senior debut, and he stayed there for three seasons, making 74 league appearances and scoring three goals before Olimpo bought 80% of his economic rights for around €330,000.

His path then ran through Chile. A six-month loan to Palestino in 2017 produced 27 appearances and two goals, enough for the loan to be made permanent the following year, when he added 23 league matches and two more goals. That spell caught the attention of Newell's Old Boys, who in July 2019 activated a release clause of $300,000 to take up half of his rights, with Olimpo retaining the other half. Fernández became a fixture there, making 97 league appearances.

Within his time at Newell's, he was sent out twice more: a loan to Lanús in 2023, where he made 27 appearances without scoring, and one to Sport Recife in Brazil in 2024, where he found the net twice in 12 games. In January 2025, he returned to Palestino as a free agent. In July 2026, he moved again, this time to Atlético Tucumán on loan until the end of the year, a deal struck without a fee or purchase option.

He has played in both the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores with Palestino and Newell's Old Boys, but has not been capped for Argentina at senior level, nor has he won a major title in his career so far.
