Karlan Laughton Ahearne-Grant

Karlan Grant came through at Charlton Athletic, making his senior debut back in the 2014–15 season, before two loan spells. The second of those, at Crawley Town, was the more telling: nine goals in 15 appearances.

The move that changed his career came in January 2019, when Huddersfield Town brought him in. He finished the 2019–20 season as the club's top scorer with 19 goals in the Championship and earning a place in the Yorkshire Championship Team of the Season. A loan at Cardiff City followed in 2023–24, where he added six more goals, before West Brom released him in May 2026.

Internationally, Grant represented England at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level between 2014 and 2015, without adding senior caps; he remains eligible for Scotland through his mother.

His return to Charlton in July 2026, on a free transfer after his West Brom contract expired, took him back to where it started. He now wears the number 9 shirt on a contract running to 2028, and nine appearances and one goal so far for 2026–27.
