Kyle John McFadzean

Kyle McFadzean's career began not with a breakthrough but with a long spell in non-league football. Released by Sheffield United without making a first-team appearance, he spent three seasons at Alfreton Town, making 85 appearances and scoring three goals before a move to Crawley Town in August 2010 relaunched his career in the professional game.

McFadzean was part of the team that won the Conference Premier title in 2010–11, a season that also brought him a place in the division's Team of the Year. He stayed for four years, reaching the League Two play-off final in 2011–12 and earning a spot in the PFA League Two Team of the Year that same season, before Milton Keynes Dons signed him in June 2014. There, he helped the club finish as League One runners-up in 2014–15 and secure automatic promotion.

A club-record move took him to Burton Albion in July 2016, where he spent three seasons, before he joined Coventry City in May 2019. It was at Coventry that McFadzean made 155 appearances and scored eight goals, and won the EFL League One title in 2019–20 as the Sky Blues went up to the Championship.

His contract at Coventry was ended by mutual consent in January 2024, and he moved to Blackburn Rovers on a short-term deal. After 13 appearances there, his contract was again terminated by mutual consent in January 2025, clearing the way for his move to Chesterfield.
