Lee Bonis

Bonis's route to League Two football began far from full-time football, working his way through Portadown BBOB and Seagoe before Portadown signed him in 2019. He was named the club's Young Player of the Year that season, then Player of the Year in 2020–21, and in two seasons at the Shamrock Park club he scored 42 goals in 49 league appearances across the NIFL Championship and Premiership.

At Larne he kept scoring: top scorer in the Premiership in 2022–23 with 15 goals, third in the charts a year later with 16, and a Premiership Team of the Year selection for 2023–24. He won the league title in both those seasons, along with the County Antrim Shield three years running and the Charity Shield in 2024. That run persuaded Dutch club ADO Den Haag to sign him, and Bonis adapted well to the Eerste Divisie, scoring 11 goals in 35 appearances as the club reached the promotion play-offs, where they were eliminated by Telstar.

Chesterfield brought him back to English football in 2025, and he scored his first goal for the club against Cheltenham Town. By the turn of the year he had become Chesterfield's top scorer, with 12 league goals and 16 in all competitions, and was named EFL League Two Player of the Month for December.

Bonis has also broken into the Northern Ireland squad, making his debut as a substitute against Belarus in the UEFA Nations League and earning further caps since.
