About the player
Kamil Grosicki came back to Pogoń Szczecin in August 2021 on a free transfer. He was named Ekstraklasa Player of the Season in 2022–23 and again in 2023–24. The club is the one where he began his senior career in 2006–2007.
His route back was a long one. From Pogoń he moved to Legia Warsaw, and during his time there he was loaned to FC Sion and to Jagiellonia Białystok. Jagiellonia signed him permanently in June 2009, and in 2010 he won the Polish Cup and the Polish Super Cup with them. A move abroad followed in January 2011, to Sivasspor. In January 2014 he joined Stade Rennais.
The English years began at Hull City, where he stayed until January 2020. In April 2017 he took the PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month award. He then spent time at West Bromwich Albion before returning to Szczecin.
For Poland he made his debut in 2008 and played until 2025. In that time he won 95 caps and scored 17 goals. He was at the European Championships in 2012, 2016 and 2024, and at the World Cups in 2018 and 2022. He announced his retirement from the national team after Euro 2024, and his last match was a friendly against Moldova in June 2025.
The 2024–25 season brought Pogoń to the Polish Cup final, which they lost to Legia Warsaw, the club he had left for Sion and Jagiellonia years earlier.
