About the player
Liam Walsh was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year for 2019–20 while on loan at Coventry City from Bristol City. The loan ran from September 2019 to May 2020.
Walsh came through at Everton and signed his first professional contract there in 2015. He first went out on loan to Yeovil Town, where he played 17 times between January and May 2016. The following season he was part of the Everton Under-23 side that won the Premier League 2 title, and he was named the competition's Player of the Month for February 2017. A second loan, at Birmingham City from September 2017 to January 2018, brought three appearances.
Bristol City signed him permanently in January 2018 for an undisclosed fee. The Coventry loan came during his time there.
Swansea City brought him in on a free transfer on 8 July 2021, on a three-year contract. He spent the second half of the 2021–22 season on loan at Hull City, where he made three appearances. He left Swansea when his contract ended.
Walsh joined Luton Town on 20 August 2024, again on a free transfer, after a trial period with the club. He is a right-footed central midfielder, listed at 168 cm, and he plays in the number 8 shirt.
