About the player
Jean Thierry Lazare Amani made his name in Belgium. The midfielder came through at AS Eupen, where he made 91 league appearances between 2016 and 2020, and led to a move to Royal Charleroi SC. Instead spending a season on loan at G.D. Estoril Praia in Portugal, where he scored once in 21 Liga Portugal 2 matches.
The turning point in his career came at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, where a loan move in 2021 was converted into a permanent transfer the following year. With Union SG he won the Belgian Cup in the 2023–24 season. In January 2025 he was loaned to Standard Liège, making 18 Belgian Pro League appearances and scoring twice, though Standard opted not to make the move permanent, and he returned to Union SG before his departure.
Internationally, Amani reached the highest point of his career with Ivory Coast, winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and featuring in the final against Nigeria. He has earned senior caps for his country and was earlier named to the Best XI at the Toulon Tournament in 2017.
Amani moved to Greece in September 2025, joining AE Kifisia as a free agent. He became a regular in the Super League side, making 29 league appearances and scoring twice before a subsequent move to Cercle Brugge.
