About the player
Luis Ismael Vázquez was a transfer that paid twice for Patronato.
Vázquez, from Recreo in Santa Fe province, made his senior debut for Patronato in the 2018/19 season. His first professional appearance for Boca came in December 2020. He played 77 league matches for Boca and scored 12 goals.
Anderlecht signed him in July 2023 for a total of about €6.3 million, made up of €4.5 million fixed and €1.8 million in bonuses. He scored 13 league goals in 90 appearances for the Belgian club between 2023 and 2026.
In January 2026 he went on loan to Getafe for the rest of the 2025–26 season. That July he moved permanently to Birmingham City, for a fee reported to be in the region of £3 million.
For Argentina he has played at under-23 level, winning two caps in 2023. He has not yet appeared for the senior national team.
