About the player
Mathis Lambourde came through at Rennes, where two seasons with the reserve side brought 16 appearances and three goals before he was given a single Ligue 1 outing for the first team in 2023–2024. It was enough to attract Hellas Verona, who paid €4 million including bonuses to sign the forward in August 2024 on a five-year contract. For the 2025–2026 season he moved out on loan to Reggiana.
At Under-17 level he scored nine goals in 16 caps and was a key player as France reached the final of the 2023 European Under-17 Championship, where they lost to Germany. Months later he went through the same story at the 2023 Under-17 World Cup, again losing a final to Germany, this time on penalties. He has since added 12 caps and three goals for the Under-18s, taking his aggregate youth record, by some counts, to 12 goals in 27 caps across the age groups.
