About the player
Godts came through the Anderlecht academy before Genk took him on in 2020, and it was there that he made his senior breakthrough with Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League. Ajax moved for him in January 2023, paying a reported €1 million plus sell-on clauses.
The 2025–26 campaign was his breakout year. Godts scored 17 goals and set up 12 more, finishing as the Eredivisie's second-highest scorer and second for assists. That form earned him the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year award, and he was named Talent of the Month on three separate occasions during the season. He had made three appearances for the French club by September 2026.
Godts made his debut for Belgium on 28 March 2026 in a friendly against the United States and had earned two caps by the end of that month. Despite his club form, head coach Rudi Garcia left him out of Belgium's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
