Olakunle Olusegun

Olakunle Olusegun made his mark on the Russian Premier League in a matter of seconds. On 9 October 2022, playing for FC Krasnodar against FC Rostov, he scored after just 8.9 seconds — the fastest goal in the competition's history, breaking the record previously held by Emmanuel Emenike. Now the forward has joined Rostov himself, signing a three-year contract until 2029 after a fee of around €450,000, with Krasnodar keeping a 40% sell-on clause.

Olusegun's route to Russian football began in Nigeria, where he started out at ABS FC before moving to Gelendzhik's FDC Vista in 2019–2020. A spell in Denmark with Fremad Amager followed, where he scored seven goals in 34 league appearances. Botev Plovdiv signed his rights in 2021 but sent him straight back to Russia on loan to FC Krasnodar-2, where he scored six goals in 19 First League appearances and earned a route into Krasnodar's first team.

He made his senior Krasnodar debut on loan in April 2022 before signing permanently that June. Across his time at the club he made 70 league appearances and scored ten goals, won the Russian Premier League title in 2024–25 and finished runner-up the previous season. Last season he went out on loan again, to Pari Nizhny Novgorod, where he scored five goals in 26 league matches.

Olusegun has also represented Nigeria at senior level, making his debut in a friendly against Russia in June 2025, and came through the Nigeria U17 side, scoring three goals in ten appearances including at the 2019 U-17 World Cup.
