Paweł Marek Wszołek

Paweł Wszołek was born in Tczew and made his senior debut at Polonia Warszawa in 2010. When Polonia's contract with him was terminated by mutual consent in June 2013, he moved to Italy as a free agent, joining Sampdoria. Two seasons later he went on loan to Hellas Verona, who signed him permanently in 2016 for around €2 million. That same summer brought a loan to Queens Park Rangers, and in January 2017 QPR paid €2 million to make the move permanent.

Wszołek returned to Poland in September 2019, joining Legia Warszawa as a free agent, and won the Ekstraklasa title in his first season there. In June 2021 he left again, signing for Union Berlin, but the move did not work out: he made only one appearance for the first team, coming off the bench in a DFB-Pokal tie against SV Waldhof Mannheim. A COVID-19 infection in December 2021 forced him into quarantine in Poland, and with game time scarce in Germany, he went back to Legia on loan in January 2022. Legia made the move permanent that July.

For the national team, Wszołek made his debut against South Africa in October 2012. His first international goals came in a 5–0 friendly win over Finland in March 2016, and he scored again in a World Cup qualifier against Malta in November 2025. In club football, he was named Legia.Net Player of the Month in March 2025 and was included by Sofascore in the UEFA Europa Conference League Team of the Season for 2024/25.
