Pedro Santos

Santos came through a scattering of academy sides in the north of Portugal — Porto's under-15s, Feirense, Sanjoanense, Paços de Ferreira — before Sporting Braga brought him into their structure and gave his career its first real shape. He worked his way up through Sporting Braga B, where he spent two seasons, and was named Breakthrough Player of the Season in the 2022–23 Liga 3 campaign. His first-team debut came in December 2022, sent on as a substitute for the injured Jean-Baptiste Gorby in the Taça da Liga.

In July 2023 he moved to Arouca on a free transfer, with Braga keeping half of his economic rights. He needed barely a month to open his account in the Primeira Liga: his first goal for the club came deep into stoppage time, in the 90+6th minute of a 4–3 home defeat to Estoril Praia. By December 2024 he had reached his 50th appearance for Arouca, in a match against Casa Pia, and that same month he was sidelined briefly by a minor injury. The club had already shown its faith in him two months earlier, extending his contract through to 2028.

He has not featured for Portugal's senior side, and no youth international caps are on record. He has yet to win a major trophy in his senior career, but the trajectory from lower-league academy football to a long-term Primeira Liga contract tells its own story.
