Perry Ng

On 4 March 2023, Perry Ng went in goal. Cardiff City had lost their keeper to a red card against Bristol City, and in the final minutes he went in goal. He kept a clean sheet.

He was a Crewe Alexandra player for most of his early career. He joined the club's youth system in 2004, signed his first professional contract in May 2014 and made his senior debut in 2015. That season he spent time on loan at Hyde United, where he made 13 appearances and scored once.

At Crewe he made more than 180 appearances. He was part of the side that won automatic promotion to League One in 2019–20, and he was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year for that season. Earlier, in March 2018, he had won the League Two Goal of the Month award.

In January 2021 he moved to Cardiff City for an initial £350,000, a fee that could rise to £500,000. The move brought his most consistent recognition. Cardiff's supporters and his team-mates chose him as Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year in both 2022–23 and 2023–24. In 2025–26 he was selected for the PFA League One Team of the Year.

Ng has not yet won a major senior trophy. Born in Liverpool, he is eligible to represent Singapore through his paternal grandfather. In March 2025 he received permanent residency there to pursue citizenship under the Foreign Sports Talent Scheme. He has not yet made his senior debut for the national team.
