Rasmus Erik Wikström

Rasmus Wikström's career has been shaped by a knee injury that arrived almost as soon as his senior career began. He made his Allsvenskan debut for IFK Göteborg in 2019, and in August of that year tore an anterior cruciate ligament. It was a heavy interruption for a player who had come through the club's academy from the age of 13 and signed his first professional contract in December 2018.

Football runs in the family. His grandfather Per-Erik "Perra" Eriksson and his uncle Peter "Erra" Eriksson both played for IFK Göteborg. Wikström was part of the squad that won the Svenska Cupen in the 2019–20 season. Earlier, he had been a regular in Sweden's youth teams. He played 22 times for the U17s and scored twice, one of those goals a winner against Portugal at the 2018 UEFA U17 Championship. He has not been capped at senior level.

Regular football came through loans and moves. At AFC Eskilstuna in 2021 he played 11 league games. That July he moved to Brøndby IF for a reported 700,000 Danish kroner, but managed only one league appearance there. SønderjyskE proved the better fit: on loan for the 2022–23 season, he played 28 league matches and scored two goals.

Brøndby sold him to Mjällby AIF in August 2023 for a reported 3.7 million kroner, a considerable rise on what they had paid. He made 13 league appearances there and scored once. In December 2024 he signed a five-year contract with IF Elfsborg, and Mjällby said they had been "properly compensated" for ending his deal early. For Elfsborg he has since played 35 league matches and scored six goals.
