About the player
Thomas Isherwood has played for Bayern Munich, and he did it after starting out at a Stockholm club. He joined the German side from IF Brommapojkarna in July 2015, a year after making his senior debut there. His first appearance for Bayern came in a friendly in July 2016. He then played 18 games for the second team in the Regionalliga Bayern in 2017–18.
He signed for Bradford City on a free transfer in June 2018 and played three league games in League One. In January 2019 he joined Östersunds FK, where he made 44 league appearances and scored four goals over two years.
Darmstadt 98 signed him in January 2021, again on a free transfer. He played in the 2. Bundesliga for three seasons and in the Bundesliga in 2023/24. He made 52 league appearances for the club, 40 in the second tier and 12 in the top flight, without scoring. He left on 26 August 2024 for AIK.
At AIK he played 30 games in Allsvenskan, four in 2024 and 26 in 2025. He also played three in the Svenska Cupen and three in the UEFA Conference League. He scored three goals in total, one of them in the Svenska Cupen against Trelleborgs FF. AIK won no major trophy in that time.
On 6 January 2026 he signed a three-year contract with IF Elfsborg, running to the end of 2028, arriving as a free agent.
Isherwood came through Sweden's youth teams: 18 caps and two goals for the under-17s, 16 caps and two goals for the under-19s, and seven caps for the under-21s. He has no senior caps.
