About the player
Reda Laalaoui came through the academy at Fath Union Sport in Rabat and made his senior debut for the club in April 2023, going on to make 51 league appearances and score five goals before his move abroad.
That move was meant to take him to Hull City. In June 2025 the Championship club agreed a four-year deal with the midfielder, but the transfer was never completed: the English Football League had placed Hull City under a registration embargo after the club breached its rules on late payment of transfer fees, accumulating more than 30 days of arrears between July 2024 and June 2025. With the club barred from registering players involving a fee, the deal was annulled in August 2025 and Laalaoui was left a free agent.
He did not stay unattached for long. In September 2025 he signed for KVC Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League on a contract running until 2029, and has since made five appearances for the club.
Laalaoui's achievements have come with Morocco's youth sides. He also won the UNAF U-20 Tournament in 2024, having finished runner-up in the same competition the year before.
