Rúben Vinagre

Rúben Vinagre's path to Legia Warszawa ran through some of European football's biggest academies before it found a settled home. He came through Sporting CP's youth ranks before Monaco signed him as a teenager in 2015, though he never made a competitive first-team appearance for the French club. His breakthrough instead came on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017-18, where he made nine appearances as Wolves won the EFL Championship.

What followed was a long stretch of loans that scattered him across Europe: Olympiacos, Famalicão, and a return to Sporting CP before Wolves sold him back to the Portuguese club permanently in 2022. Sporting then loaned him out again, to Everton, Hull City and Hellas Verona, before he arrived at Legia Warszawa on loan in July 2024. Legia made the move permanent in February 2025, exercising a buyout clause worth a record fee for the Ekstraklasa at the time and tying him to the club until 2028.

Vinagre's medal collection reflects that itinerant career: alongside the Championship title with Wolves, he has won the Greek Super League with Olympiacos, the Taça da Liga and Supertaça with Sporting, and the Polish Cup with Legia. At youth international level he was named to the Team of the Tournament at both the 2016 European Under-17 Championship and the 2018 European Under-19 Championship, both of which Portugal won. He has not yet earned a senior cap.
