Sam Nombe

Sam Nombe is an English forward who joined his first club, Milton Keynes Dons, as a child. He entered the academy at under-11 level and stayed for ten years before signing professional terms. His early development included several loan spells where he began to establish himself as a dangerous attacker. One such stint at Oxford City saw him score eight goals in just twenty games, demonstrating the pace and power that would define his career.

He made his professional debut for MK Dons in an EFL Cup tie. Over four seasons at the club, he accumulated thirty-one league appearances and scored two goals. The move away from Milton Keynes came in July 2021 when he signed for Exeter City for an undisclosed fee. This transfer proved pivotal. Nombe scored twenty-three goals in seventy-six league appearances for Exeter. His form was instrumental in helping the club secure promotion to League One as second-place finishers during the 2022–23 campaign.

Rotherham United snapped him up on 31 August 2023 for a club-record fee. At Rotherham, Nombe found consistent goal-scoring form. He made one hundred and fifteen league appearances and scored twenty-nine goals. His commitment was evident in the 2025–26 season, where he played in the starting lineup for twenty-two consecutive matches across all competitions.

After five seasons with the club, Nombe returned to MK Dons on 24 July 2026. Described as a homecoming after his departure, the move was reported to be worth between £600,000 and £1 million. He made two appearances for the club shortly after his return. Throughout his journey, Nombe has been recognised for his physical attributes and direct style of play. He was named Milton Keynes Dons Young Player of the Year in 2019–20, acknowledging his potential before his move to Exeter.
