Sverre Hakami Sandal

Sverre Hakami Sandal spent barely two months of his Luton career waiting for a trophy. He joined from KFUM-Kameratene Oslo on 2 February 2026 for a fee reported at around €1.3 million, and on 12 April he was on the pitch at Wembley when Luton beat Stockport County 3–1 in the EFL Trophy final. He came on in the 88th minute for Shayden Morris. Luton had reached the final by beating Plymouth Argyle 2–1 in the quarter-finals and Northampton Town 2–1 in the semi-finals.

His first appearance for the club came five days after the move. On 7 February he replaced a team-mate as a substitute in a 2–1 League One win over Bradford City. Manager Jack Wilshere praised how quickly he adapted to English football.

The route to Luton ran through Oslo. Sandal made his senior debut at Nordstrand IF in the 3. divisjon in 2021. In February 2022 he signed a four-year contract with KFUM and was immediately loaned back to Nordstrand for the season. He returned to KFUM that December and played for the reserve side until 2024, while also appearing for the first team from 2023.

KFUM years. That 2023 season was in the second tier, the OBOS-ligaen. Sandal played 29 league games, scored twice and set up one goal, and added two goals in two Norwegian Cup appearances. KFUM won promotion to the Eliteserien. He played 26 top-flight games in 2024 without scoring, then 26 more in 2025, when he scored three goals and provided four assists. Across all competitions he made 90 first-team appearances for the club and scored seven goals.

At 193 cm he is a tall midfielder, and he holds English citizenship through his mother alongside his Norwegian one. He has not yet played for the Norway senior side.
