About the player
Tizian-Valentino Scharmer learned his football in Tyrol. He came up through AKA Tirol, where he played at U15, U16 and U18 level, and spent the 2020/21 season in the U17 side of TSG Hoffenheim before returning home in July 2021 to join FC Wacker Innsbruck.
That early period brought international recognition. Scharmer played for Austria at U15, U16, U18 and U19 level: seven caps at U15, four at U16, five at U18 and three at U19. He has not been capped by the senior national team.
His senior football has been built in Austria's second tier and its edges. In August 2022 he moved to SV Ried for the 2022/23 season, appearing for the club and its second team. A year later, in July 2023, he joined SK Sturm Graz II, where he stayed through the 2025/26 season in the 2. Liga.
In July 2026 he left Graz on a free transfer for Újpest in Hungary, his first move abroad since his season in Hoffenheim's youth system. Newspapers and databases do not agree on how to label him: the Hungarian club lists him as a defender, while Transfermarkt and Weltfussball.de place him in midfield, on the left side. A left-footed player, he is at his most natural in that wide midfield role.
