Tony Springett

Tony Springett played through a dislocated finger at Wycombe Wanderers in March 2024. A teammate popped it back in, and he continued. It came during a loan spell at Northampton Town, where he also scored his first senior goal: a 92nd-minute equaliser in a 2–2 draw with Oxford United on 20 February 2024.

Springett joined the Norwich City academy in 2014, aged 12, and spent the next eight years working his way through the youth ranks. His first-team debut came on 8 May 2022, as a substitute in a 4–0 Premier League defeat by West Ham United.

The first goal for Norwich itself took longer. It arrived on 11 January 2026, in a 5–1 FA Cup win over Walsall, more than three and a half years after his debut.

Born in Lewisham, Springett plays for the Republic of Ireland at youth level and was called up to the under-18 and under-21 squads. His under-21 debut was on 8 September 2023 against Turkey, and he set up the 96th-minute winner in a 3–2 victory. He won five caps at that level, starting against San Marino and Latvia. He was also part of the squad for the qualifiers against Norway and Italy.

His contract at Norwich expired in the summer of 2026, ending twelve years at the club. On 11 June 2026 he signed for Leyton Orient on a free transfer.
