Yassir Rahmoun

Yassir Rahmoun was born in Amsterdam and came up through the Amsterdam football scene before Go Ahead Eagles gave him his shot. His path ran through RKSV DCG and AFC Amsterdam before De Graafschap took him into their academy in 2022, where he spent three years working through the under-17 and under-19 sides.

He moved to Go Ahead Eagles on a free transfer in the summer of 2025, signing a contract initially running to 2028 that the club later extended to 2029. That debut came on 8 August 2025, away to Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie, a game that finished 2–2. Rahmoun came off the bench, one of the moments that make up a first taste of top-flight football.

Since then he has become a regular fixture in Go Ahead Eagles' squad, with appearances stretching across the Eredivisie, the KNVB Beker and the UEFA Europa League. He has yet to register a goal or an assist in any of those competitions, and the individual and team honours have so far passed him by. There has been no call-up yet for either the Netherlands or Morocco, the two countries tied to his background, leaving his international future still to be written.

For now, Rahmoun's story is one of steady progress rather than headline moments: an Amsterdam-born midfielder who worked his way out of the youth system and into regular first-team football with Go Ahead Eagles, with the next chapters still ahead of him.
