Annapolis Blues

It had no soccer team of its own until 2022, when businessman Michael Hitchcock set one up and put the name to a public vote. The options included Seawolves, Yard and Kraken. "Blues" won, and the kit took its blue and white from the crab.

The Annapolis Blues drew 8,368 people to their first home game in 2023, and 11,171 to the opener a year later. Both were records for amateur soccer in the US. They play at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, which holds 34,000 for football.

In 2023, their first season in the National Premier Soccer League, they won the Mid-Atlantic Conference. The final against Alexandria Reds finished 2-2, and the Blues took the shootout 4-2. In 2024 they finished top of the regular-season table, but Virginia Dream FC beat them 2-0 in the conference final.

The club moved up to USL League Two for 2025 and finished fourth in the Chesapeake Division, outside the playoff places. Jim Gabarra, a familiar name in American soccer, joined as president that year. The ownership group already included the former MLS players Kyle Beckerman and Alex Yi. Kristen Hamilton, who played for the club, received a call-up to the US Women's National Team in 2025.

The supporters' group, The Bay Bhoys, has picked Maryland Bobcats FC as its local rival. The two clubs have played each other in a charity Community Shield match, in 2023 and again in 2024.
