Carrarese

The club has done this before under different names: founded in 1908 as Società Polisportiva Carrarese, it went through Unione Sportiva Carrarese from 1919, and a 2016 insolvency that saw a new company, Carrarese Calcio 1908, take over the sporting title from the old Carrarese Calcio S.r.l.

Home games are played at the Stadio dei Marmi, officially the Stadio Comunale dei Marmi "4 Olimpionici Azzurri". Serie B rules call for 5,500 seats.

The nickname that sticks locally is Apuani, after the Apuan Alps that rise behind the city and supply the marble Carrara has quarried for centuries; "Marmiferi" points at the same trade. In yellow and blue, the club's honours read as a ladder through Italian football's lower tiers rather than a cabinet of major trophies: titles in Serie C2, Serie D and the old Seconda Divisione, plus a Coppa Italia Serie C win in 1982-83, mark a history built on repeated promotion pushes rather than one golden generation.

None of that carries the weight of the Derby delle Apuane, the fixture against Massese first recorded in 1915 and rooted in the rivalry between two towns either side of the marble mountains. Games against Pisa have sharpened more recently with both clubs meeting in Serie B, while the shared coastline with Spezia keeps that fixture alive on geography alone.
