CR Khemis Zemamra

A second promotion, sealed with the Botola 2 crown in 2022–23, put them back in the Botola Pro, where they are competing again this season.

That gap between ambition and history showed most clearly in 2022, when the club, still in the second division at the time, signed Hachim Mastour, the former AC Milan forward. More recently the side has leaned on experience of a quieter sort, bringing in the defender Yassir Jarici from FUS Rabat in 2024 to help see out matches at a level the club has occupied only twice before.

Stade Ahmed Choukri, the club's ground in Zemamra, holds 2,500 people, a capacity that has not stretched with the team's rise through the divisions. The nickname Les Touarègues, a reference to the Tuareg presence in the region's past, sits somewhat apart from the club's own story, which has none of that nomadic quality: Zemamra, in Sidi Bennour Province, has produced a side that stayed close to home and worked its way up through the leagues rather than one built around passing through.

The club took its current name, Renaissance Club Athletic Zemamra, on 14 January 1977, a date that now marks the start of a history spent mostly below the level it holds today.
