Angel Andres took charge for the 2024 season at a club whose crest still carries the Serbian flag's blue, white and red, long after the name on the shirt stopped saying so. Dianella White Eagles began life as Dianella Serbia, founded in 1978 by the local Serbian Australian community in the Perth suburb of Dianella. When Football Federation Australia mandated non-ethnic club names in the 1990s, the Serbia tag came off, but locals kept calling it the Serbia Club.

The ground, Dianella Reserve, holds 1,500. It is not a large number, but it is enough to make derbies against Western Knights and Gwelup Croatia feel close and loud.

Honours have come at the top and bottom of the state pyramid alike: the Football West State League Division 1 title in 1993 and again in 2025, plus a Division 2 championship in 2021. Two Karadjordjev Cups, in 2012 and 2017, sit alongside those league titles.

The academy has sent players further than the Reserve's stands might suggest — Corey Sutherland among those who moved on to Perth Glory and Australian youth honours.
