Perth Glory II

There is no fixture on the calendar for Perth Glory II that carries the weight of a derby. The Italian Derby in Western Australia belongs to Perth SC and Fremantle City, a rivalry the reserve side has never been part of; instead it turns out most weeks against the same clubs from the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, among them Perth SC, Fremantle City and Western Knights, without any of those meetings hardening into something fiercer than three points.

What the side exists for sits elsewhere. It grew out of Future Glory, a youth team that took part in the Soccer West Coast Premier League in 2002 and withdrew the following year. The current setup dates to 2008, when it entered the first season of the National Youth League, before the competition's restructuring in 2014 moved it into the NPL WA. The purpose has stayed the pathway: getting young players from Perth into the senior A-League squad. Adam Taggart, Michael Thwaite, Jamie Maclaren and Ryan Edwards all passed through it on their way to first-team football and, in several cases, the Socceroos.

Silverware has not followed the same players who did. The club has never won a title outright, finishing as runners-up instead: in the Y-League Premiership and Championship in 2009–10, in the NPL WA Premiership and Championship in 2018, and in the State Challenge Cup back in 2002. Jayden Gorman and goalkeeper Alex Pearson are the current names carrying that record forward.

Matches are played at Hilton Reserve in Beaconsfield, with Kingsway Reserve and the Sam Kerr Football Centre used on occasion, and the purple and orange kit ties the team to the senior Glory it feeds. The ground holds 1,000.
