Fulham United

The split came first. A group broke away from West Beach Soccer Club and set up on their own as Western United, formed on 11 June that year. The name they carry now arrived only after the move to Collins Reserve at Kidman Park in 1979 — Fulham United played there until 2018, then went back across to West Beach, to the ground now called the West Beach Parks Football Centre.

It holds 2,000. Two hundred of those are seats under a covered grandstand; the rest of the crowd stands on grass hills that run along the touchline.

The senior side has never won anything of note. Runners-up in State League 2 in 2017, a Federation Cup semi-final in 2022, and that is the extent of it.

What the club does produce is players. Isabel Hodgson came through here before joining Adelaide United, and she is not the only one — Bailey O'Neil made the same journey, and others followed.

The black and white stripes give them their nickname, the Black and Whites. As for enemies: there is no derby. Western Strikers, West Adelaide and Para Hills Knights are all within reach, but none of it has hardened into a rivalry with a name attached.
