Goczałkowice Zdrój

Promotion, when it came in 2020, arrived by way of extra time. Goczałkowiczanie beat Szombierki Bytom 2-0 in a playoff at Łaziski Górne on 20 June that year to complete a climb that had started with the Class A title in 2014/15 and continued through a runners-up finish in the Katowice I regional league a year later. The IV Liga title in the Silesia II group followed in 2019/20, and the club has stayed in the III Liga, Group III, every season since.

What changed the profile of the village club was Łukasz Piszczek. The former Borussia Dortmund and Poland full-back, born in the area, joined in 2021 as a player-coach, working under his father Kazimierz Piszczek, the club's president. He also runs a football academy locally in partnership with Dortmund.

The cup run of 2025/26 gave the first team a taste of that new attention: a 3-1 extra-time win over Stal Stalowa Wola sent them through to the round of 16 of the Polish Cup. The reserve side went further in its own competition, lifting the Silesian Football Association Cup after beating GKS Katowice II, though its own run in the national cup ended at the same round of 16, a 0-7 defeat to Polonia Bytom.

The ground still carries the shape of a village stadium rather than a stage for that history — 304 seats, with 50 kept for travelling supporters, at what is now known as the Panattoni Arena. Between the size of the crowd it can hold and the size of the story now attached to the club, there is still real distance to close.
