Lucko

The neighbourhood the club takes its name from sits in Novi Zagreb – zapad, and the team began there in 1931 under a different name altogether: NK Velebit.

The stretch worth returning to runs from 2010 to 2012. Second place in 3. HNL–Zapad in 2009–10 took them up; second place in 2. HNL the following season took them up again, and by the summer of 2011 a club from a Zagreb suburb was preparing for a season in the top flight. They finished 13th in 2011–12.

Josip Fuček scored 27 goals in 2008–09. Nikola Rak stayed longer, through the ascent and the top-flight year and out the other side, and left with 30 goals from 109 appearances.

The Zagreb Cup is the honour the club actually holds. They took it in 2000–01, then twice in a row in 2012–13 and 2013–14, the second pair arriving immediately after the relegation from 1. HNL.

The white and blue shirts give them their nickname, Bijelo-plavi.

Stadion Lučko holds 1,500.
