Van BB

Van's city administration put a football team under its own name in 1982. The club changed name several times, from Belediye Vanspor in 2007 to Van Büyükşehir Belediyespor in 2014, then Vanspor Futbol Kulübü in 2019.

The club plays at Van Atatürk Stadyumu, reduced to 5,885 seats after rebuilding work that followed the 2011 earthquake; older records still list a capacity of 11,500.

Van BB's clearest mark in the record books came in 2007/08, when it won Group 1 of the TFF 3. Lig and went up. Batuhan Er supplied the club's most-remembered goal since, the winner in the 2019 third-tier play-off final, on his way to becoming its top scorer of the modern era with 35 in 47 appearances. More recently, forward Ivan Cedric scored 15 goals in 34 games in 2025/26 before Süper Lig side Alanyaspor signed him, leaving Van BB to finish that season 14th in the TFF 1. Lig without him. The women's side has fared better in its own bracket, topping its group in the Women's 3. Lig.

Cup football has brought no silverware — the closest the men came was 2018/19, when a penalty shoot-out against Bandırmaspor ended their run in the fourth round.
