Antalyaspor

The pitch at Antalya Stadyumu sits in a bowl that opened on 26 October 2015, the home Antalyaspor used from 1966 until 2010. Between the old ground and the new one came a stretch of temporary addresses — Mardan Antalyaspor Stadyumu, then a spell at the university stadium, then Antalya Arena — before the club settled where it plays now, a venue known to sponsors over the years as Corendon Airlines Park. The club lists capacity at 33,000; other counts put it closer to 29,300.

Antalyaspor came together on 5 June 1966, when three local sides — Yenikapı Spor, İlk Işık and Ferrokromspor — merged into one club, officially registered on 2 July that year. In 1992 it absorbed another local outfit, Çimturspor. The nickname Akrepler, the Scorpions, has stuck since.

The club's honours read thin next to Turkey's grandees: two Second Division (TFF 1. Lig) titles, in 1981-82 and 1985-86. Its best league finish since has been fifth, in 2016-17, and its deepest run in Europe stopped at the first round of the UEFA Cup in 2000-01.
