The Sushil Koirala Memorial U19 Girls Cricket Tournament stands as the premier domestic youth competition for female cricketers within Nepal. Organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal, this event serves a dual purpose: identifying emerging talent and honouring Sushil Koirala, the former Prime Minister who died in 2016.

Unlike many traditional youth structures, this tournament blends different levels of representation into one fixture list. Provincial sides such as Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Paschim compete alongside district-level clubs like Kohalpur Mayor XI. Selection is not automatic; teams arrive through invitation or selection by their respective Provincial Cricket Associations rather than a promotion ladder.

The competition follows a modern structure designed to ensure action on the pitch. Matches are played in the Twenty20 format, with each side limited to 20 overs. The season typically begins with a group phase, after which the top teams advance to a knockout stage. The inaugural recorded edition took place in February 2024 at the Kohalpur Cricket Ground. In that final, Sudurpashchim Province Women Under-19s secured victory over Kohalpur Mayor XI Women Under-19s by two wickets.

This competition operates alongside the Maiyadevi Girls Under-19s Cup, another national youth championship named after politician Maiyadevi Shrestha. While both tournaments aim to develop players for the Nepal U19 Women's National Team, the Sushil Koirala Memorial tournament distinguishes itself through its inclusion of district-level participants. There is no formal mechanism for teams to move between tiers, and the focus remains strictly on performance within the season. The success of players here feeds directly into the national setup, providing a pathway for young athletes to reach the highest level of the sport in Nepal.
