The club traces back to 1953, and its name is itself a small piece of local lore: an acronym for "Dej Házené Co Potřebuje Lásku" — give handball what it needs, love. That sentiment has mostly played out in developing juniors rather than chasing senior silverware; the youth sides, nicknamed the Tygřice, took the Older Girls' title in 2021/2022 and both junior league titles again in 2025/2026, where the club has never won the Czech Extraliga or the domestic cup.
Home games are played in a school sports hall on Elišky Krásnohorské street.
