Two clubs merging in 1919, Skiklubben Freidig and Sportsklubben Grane, gave Oslo the outfit that would eventually put on a handball section in 1937. The women got there first: a Kongepokal in 1938 and again in 1939, the earliest champions of the women's outdoor game in Norway. The men answered across the 1940s to the 1960s, then adding a league championship in 1981.
What came after is harder to soften. The elite women's side slid out of the top division and was wound up in 2016.
Home games are played at Nordstrand Arena, inside the Niffen complex, a hall that holds 2,000 under the club's blue and white.
