«Tasmanian Tigers»
Three finals in a row settled it, and the middle one was the tightest: in 2022–23 the Tasmanian Tigers beat South Australia by a single run under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. In 2023–24 they closed out the hat-trick against Queensland by six wickets. South Australia has become the team Tasmania measures itself against.
Elyse Villani has captained the side through that run. Nicola Carey has been part of the setup longer than most. Sarah Coyte and Molly Strano round out the squad.
The team plays under Cricket Tasmania and takes its home ground at Ninja Stadium in Hobart. Green, gold and red are the club's colours.
The side entered the Australian Women's Twenty20 Cup as the Tasmanian Roar. The 50-over Women's National Cricket League followed a year later, and the team carried the Roar name until June 2018, when it was dropped in favour of the Tasmanian Tigers, aligning the women's side with the men's team it now shares a badge with.
