Primera División - Clausura (Uruguay) 2025/26

The Clausura is the second half of the split-season format in the Uruguayan top flight, organized by the Liga AUF Uruguaya. It sits at Level 1 of the national pyramid, operating alongside the Torneo Apertura and the mid-year Torneo Intermedio. The league returned to this calendar-year structure in 2017 after a period of European-style scheduling between 2005 and 2016.

This specific tournament runs for the latter part of the year, featuring clubs such as Club Nacional, Cerro, and Danubio. While the full league consists of 16 teams, the Clausura serves as a critical component in determining the overall national champion. The title is decided through an aggregate table called the Tabla Anual, which combines points from all three short tournaments. A team can secure the championship automatically if it wins both the Apertura and the Clausura while also leading the aggregate table.

If no club achieves this double feat, a playoff system involving the tournament winners and the aggregate leader decides the ultimate victor. The competition has a long history, having been founded in 1900. It professionalized in 1932, ending its amateur era. Historically, the league faced a schism between 1923 and 1925 when a dissident federation operated in parallel, though those titles are not officially recognized. Today, only clubs outside the historic giants of Peñarol and Nacional face the threat of relegation, as these two have never dropped below the first tier since the league's inception.
