Dedza Dynamos played out a 1-1 draw with Krek in the thirteenth round of the Super League on Saturday. The match at home ground ended level after T. Wirad opened the scoring in the thirty-seventh minute before S. Nkhata equalised late on. Both sides walked away with a point each.
Wirad's goal came at the hour mark and put the hosts ahead, but Krek refused to lie down. Nkhata found the net in the ninetieth minute to salvage a result for his side. By then the match had become about momentum rather than territory.
Dedza Dynamos sit twelfth with fourteen points from fourteen games, three wins, five draws and six defeats. Krek occupy sixteenth place on nine points after two victories, three draws and nine losses. The gap between them remains five points, and neither side has much room to breathe.
Recent form does not suggest either team is ready to climb. Dedza Dynamos drew with Ehaiya last time out and beat Nyasa Big Bullets before that, while Krek have lost four of their last five matches. To be fair, both sides have shown they can score, but consistency remains the problem.
The result keeps Krek in the bottom half and does little to change the landscape at either end of the table. Dedza Dynamos will take the point as partial redemption after that defeat to Chipa United, but they need more than occasional flashes to move up. And here's the thing — draws like this are where seasons can slip away if you do not close them out.
