Municipal Limenio played host to Placense in the third round of the Apertura stage of the Primera División on Saturday evening, and the match finished 1-1. M. Gonzalez opened the scoring for the hosts in the ninth minute before E. D. Claros Lopez equalised for the visitors just eleven minutes later.
It was the early exchange that set the tone, with both sides showing intent from the first whistle. Gonzalez had the edge in timing, but Claros Lopez responded quickly to restore parity. By then, neither side had built much momentum, and the tempo remained cautious.
Municipal Limenio controlled possession at 61 per cent but did not convert that dominance into clear-cut chances. They registered three shots on target against eight off target, while Placense managed two on target from three attempts off target. The attacking numbers tell a different story: 134 attacks for the hosts compared to 104 for the visitors.
The statistics reveal a match where territory meant little without penetration. Six corners for Municipal Limenio against five for Placense suggested pressure, but the shots on target figures show both teams struggled to test each other's goalkeepers consistently. Three yellow cards for the hosts and two for the visitors indicated a physical contest without serious disciplinary issues.
The result keeps both sides within touching distance in the table. Municipal Limenio remain fifth with 14 points from nine games, while Placense sit sixth on 12 points with the same number of matches played. Neither side has won since their last competitive fixture before this draw.
