Yupanqui — Atlético Atlas, Primera C

Atlético Atlas took all three points from Yupanqui in the twenty-fifth round of Primera C on Friday evening. The visitors won 2:0 at their own stadium.

S. Martinez gave the away side the lead in the tenth minute. N. Perez doubled the advantage fourteen minutes later. Two chances, two goals, and the hosts were playing catch-up from the opening exchanges. By then the visitors had already decided the pattern of the match.

The game shifted in the sixty-ninth minute when a Yupanqui player received a red card. The hosts were suddenly playing the second half a man down.

The statistics tell a story of missed opportunities. Yupanqui enjoyed 55 per cent possession and registered 128 attacks, yet only four shots found the target. Atlético Atlas had just 45 per cent possession but delivered eight shots on target against ten off target for the hosts. Many shots with one goal means chances went begging - and here's the thing, it was the visitors who closed the game out.

The victory moves Atlético Atlas up to eighth place on 35 points. Yupanqui remain ninth with 26 games and 33 points. A narrow margin separates the two sides, and neither can afford another slip.
