About the player
Adrian Kurd Rønning left Vålerenga in the last hours of the summer window in 2024, moving to Kristiansund BK on 31 August for a fee reported at around €85,000. He arrived with 48 matches and nine goals for Vålerenga 2 in the 2. divisjon behind him, and without a single competitive appearance for the club's first team — he had been registered with the senior squad, but the step up never came in Oslo.
He came through the Vålerenga youth system, having started out at Bækkelaget in the Oslo area. Between 2022 and August 2024 the reserve side was his football.
The Norwegian federation had already been watching. Rønning won caps for the Norway U17 side in 2022 and 2023, playing in UEFA U17 Euro qualifying, and made 11 appearances for the U18s with a goal to his name. In 2024 he featured for the U19s in European qualifying and in friendlies, and added a single U20 appearance in a friendly the same year. He has not been called up by the U21s or the senior side.
At Kristiansund the return has been slimmer than the reserve-team numbers suggested. As of the 2026 season he has 18 league appearances for the club, with one goal and one assist.
