About the player
Named Young Player of the Year in the PostNord-ligaen for his part in a promotion season, Syver Skundberg Skeide was still a teenager who had signed his first professional contract only months earlier — at 16, with IL Hødd, the club he had grown up in. He came through the age-group teams there, made his senior debut in 2021, and finished that season with a league title and promotion to the 1. divisjon.
In February 2023 FK Bodø/Glimt, then champions of the Eliteserien, signed him on a contract running to the end of 2027. The fee was never disclosed. He did not stay in Bodø: the club loaned him straight back to Hødd for the 2023 season, where he made 24 appearances in the OBOS-ligaen and scored once.
Then it broke. Returning to Bodø/Glimt for 2024, Skeide suffered a cruciate ligament injury in pre-season and lost most of the year to it. The club won the Eliteserien again while he was out.
The route back has run through Kristiansund BK. Skeide joined on loan for 2025 and made 14 appearances, and the arrangement was renewed for 2026. He remains a Bodø/Glimt player, registered there and contracted there, but the football is being played on the west coast — which meant he was not part of the squad when Bodø/Glimt won the Norwegian Football Cup in 2025–26.
