Agustin Herrera

Agustin Herrera grew up playing in Argentina before working his way through a string of clubs whose names rarely reach beyond domestic football pages: Racing Club de Córdoba, Deportivo Maipú, Juventud Unida Universitario and Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza.

The turning point came in January 2024, when he left Argentina on loan for Orense SC in Ecuador. It proved the most productive stretch of his career so far: he scored eight goals in a single season, seven of them in LigaPRO and one in the domestic cup. The move on loan became permanent a year later, on 13 January 2025, when Orense SC bought out his rights in full, splitting the fee evenly between Gimnasia de Mendoza and Deportivo Maipú. The club tied him down with a contract running to the end of 2028, a sign of how much weight his short spell in Ecuador carried.

Herrera plays as a forward, wears the number 11 shirt and favours his right foot. He has not been capped by Argentina at any level, and his career so far carries no major titles or individual awards — the record that speaks loudest for him remains that goal return in his first season in Ecuadorian football.
