Stefano Callegari

Stefano Callegari came through the Newell's Old Boys academy and made his first-team debut in March 2018 against Tigre, going on to spend six years attached to the Rosario club. Those years were broken up by three separate loan spells, at Platense, Agropecuario and Aldosivi. He left Newell's for Nueva Chicago in 2024 on a free transfer, spending two seasons there before a second free move, this time out of Argentina entirely, took him to Orense SC in Ecuador in January 2026.

At Orense he plays as a central defender wearing the number 6 shirt. His 2026 campaign there has been a regular one rather than a spectacular one: 14 appearances, no goals, and four yellow cards. There is no record of a call-up to the Argentina national team at any level, and no individual honours attached to his name.

What stands out in his career so far is the shape of it: a long apprenticeship at one club repeatedly interrupted by loans, followed by two free transfers in as many years that carried him from Argentina's lower and middle tiers into South American football abroad.
