Pedro Velasco

Pedro Velasco spent almost his entire senior career at one club. He joined Barcelona SC in 2013 and stayed for eleven years. Estimates of his output there vary by source, but the shape of it is clear: several hundred appearances and a modest tally of goals from the back.

He came up through Deportivo Quito's academy and made the step into the first team in 2010, going on to make just over a hundred appearances before Barcelona SC signed him in 2013.

Silverware followed at both clubs. Velasco won the Ecuadorian championship with Deportivo Quito in 2011, then added two more league titles with Barcelona SC, in 2016 and 2020, giving him three domestic championships across two very different spells of his career.

His international record is comparatively brief. Velasco was capped eleven times by Ecuador, making his senior debut during World Cup qualifying for the 2018 tournament, and he was later included in the squad for the 2019 Copa América. Before that, he had already represented the country at under-20 level, adding five caps there in 2013. He left Barcelona SC as a free agent in January 2024, before joining Orense SC.
